В дослідженні проаналізовано та доведено необхідність переходу до інноваційного розвитку аграрних підприємств сільських територій далі (АП СТ) задля збалансування та стійкості останнього. Розроблено критерії інноваційного розвитку сільських територій: інституціональний (дослідження стану нормативно-правового забезпечення можливостей застосування інновацій, інноваційних підходів, створення інноваційних передумов та відповідного середовища в аграрному секторі країни тощо); індексно-індикаторний (комплексна оцінка розвитку інноваційного потенціалу країни, до якої належать сільські території шляхом дослідження конкретних показників (індексів та індикаторів) впровадження інновацій); інноваційне підприємництво; інноваційна інфраструктура; інноваційна культура. Досліджено сутність механізму управління розвитком АП СТ за системним, функціональним та процесним підходами. Спираючись на особливості діяльності аграрних підприємств та необхідність запровадження концепції сталого розвитку на сільських територіях, надано визначення механізму управління розвитком АП СТ як системи економічно-організаційного впливу субʼєкта АП на обʼєкт управління АП шляхом цілеспрямованого використання сукупності форм і методів, принципів і функцій, інструментів і важелів управління, можливостей організаційної структури тощо під дією зовнішніх та внутрішніх чинників з метою забезпечення сталого розвитку та конкурентоспроможності АП сільських територій
