"Journal of Strategic Economic Research" is an open-access peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research, review and theoretical articles  relating to all aspects of economic development. The purpose of the journal is to cover the results of scientific studies, different perspectives of scholars on global and current economic issues, analysis of development prospects. Until 19.04.2021, the journal was titled "Bulletin of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design". The journal is the successor of the "Proceedings of Higher educational establishments. Technology of the light industry", (published since March 1958).

The Editorial Board includes scientists from Ukraine, Poland, the USA, Germany, Georgia, the Slovak Republic, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. The journal adheres to ethical and professional standards based on the provisions of the statement of Publication Ethics. The journal adheres to an Open Access Policy, supporting the principles of free dissemination of scientific information and global exchange of knowledge, for the sake of social progress. This means that all content is freely available for all users without any charges. Full-text access to the scientific articles of the journal is available in the Archive. All materials are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License, allowing others to disseminate the article with acknowledgement of authorship and its first publication in this journal.

The journal is included in category “B” of the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine, in which the results of dissertations for the degree of doctor and candidate of sciences can be published in the following specialties:  economic (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1017 dated 27.09.2021): 0311 – Economics, 0411 – Accounting and Taxation, 0412 – Finance, Banking and Insurance, 0413 – Management and administration, 0414 – Marketing and advertising, 1013 –  Hotel, Restaurants and catering. Starting with No. 4, 2024, “Journal of Strategic Economic Research” has narrowed its focus.
