The article considers and substantiates the concept of innovative development of agricultural enterprises, defines and proves that it is the management of the process of development (own), search (existing on the market) and further implementation of agricultural and other innovations (innovations), which relate to both basic (production) and additional (marketing, finance, accounting, etc.) business processes, with the aim of sustainable qualitative improvement of the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises and the industry as a whole, the basis of which is intensive development factors and the existing potential of the enterprise. The institutional foundations of innovative development of agricultural enterprises in the context of European integration are analyzed. The concept and types of institutions are defined, the structure of the national innovation ecosystem of Ukraine or NIS as a key innovation institute for development at the state level is revealed. The need for the development and implementation of the triple helix model in the context of institutional support for the innovative development of agricultural enterprises is substantiated. The essence of the key structural components of the modern institutional support for the innovative development of agricultural enterprises has been studied and identified: subject-institutions, institutional mechanism and institutional factors of influence. The key regulatory and legal institutions that regulate the innovative development of agricultural enterprises in Ukraine in the context of European integration have been analyzed. Based on the analysis of the institutional development of agricultural enterprises, the main strategic tasks for improving the institutional support for the innovative development of agricultural enterprises have been identified, including: transforming the framework "on paper" structure of the national innovation system into a really operating NIS; improving innovation legislation by systematizing it and adopting relevant legislative acts; creating relevant institutions for monitoring the technological state of the development of the agricultural industry, analyzing scientific potential and mastering innovative technologies and scientific developments, indicators for assessing this scientific potential; further development of innovation infrastructure; creating an effective state innovation policy in the field of agriculture; strengthening scientific and industrial ties in the triangle "state – science – business"; development of a technology transfer mechanism and other strategic tasks
